How to Check Your Result
Go to cbseresults.nic.in
The official CBSE result portal. Also available at cbse.gov.in and via DigiLocker. Third-party 'result check' sites are unreliable — use only official sources.
Enter roll number and school code
Your roll number and school code are on your admit card. Some portals may also ask for date of birth. Keep your admit card handy before the result date.
Download and save your result PDF
Save immediately — portals get overwhelmed right after declaration. Note your CGPA and the grade in each subject. The online provisional result is usable for Class 11 provisional admissions.
Collect original marksheet from school
The CBSE-issued original marksheet comes through your school 1–2 weeks after result. This is required for all formal Class 11 admissions, including TC processing.
Access DigiLocker for digital certificate
Your marksheet and pass certificate are on DigiLocker (digilocker.gov.in) linked to Aadhaar. Accepted as original for most purposes including college admissions.
How Your Marksheet Works
CBSE Class 10 results use a grade-point system, not a percentage. Here's what each component on your marksheet means.
Theory marks
80 marks for most subjects (Maths, Science, Social Science, English, Hindi). Subjects with practicals show 70M theory + 30M practical. The board exam in February–March is your theory component.
Internal assessment
20 marks per subject, submitted by your school throughout the year — periodic tests (10M), notebook submission (5M), and subject enrichment activities (5M). This cannot be changed after the result is declared.
Passing criteria
You must score 33% in theory AND 33% in internal assessment independently for each subject. A high theory score does not compensate for a low internal score or vice versa.
Grade system
A1 (91–100), A2 (81–90), B1 (71–80), B2 (61–70), C1 (51–60), C2 (41–50), D (33–40), E1 (21–32 — eligible for compartment), E2 (0–20 — fail).
CGPA
Cumulative Grade Point Average — average of grade points across your best 5 subjects. CBSE does not convert this to a percentage officially. Multiply CGPA by 9.5 for an approximate percentage equivalent.
Result status
'Pass' — cleared all subjects. 'Compartment' — failed in 1–2 subjects, eligible for July compartment exam. 'Essential Repeat' — failed in 3 or more subjects, must repeat Class 10.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will the CBSE Class 10 result 2026 be declared?
CBSE Class 10 results are typically declared in May–June. In 2025, results came in mid-May. The exact date for 2026 will be announced on cbse.gov.in closer to declaration.
How do I check my CBSE Class 10 result online?
Results are available on cbseresults.nic.in and results.cbse.nic.in. You need your roll number and school code from your admit card. Results are also on DigiLocker (digilocker.gov.in), linked to your Aadhaar.
What does CGPA mean and how do I convert it to a percentage?
CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is the average grade point across your best 5 subjects. CBSE does not give a percentage for Class 10 — CGPA is the official indicator. Multiplying your CGPA by 9.5 gives an approximate percentage (e.g. CGPA 9.2 ≈ 87.4%). This multiplier is widely used but not officially endorsed by CBSE.
What is the passing criteria for CBSE Class 10?
You must score at least 33% in the theory exam AND at least 33% in internal assessment separately for each subject. Scoring well in one cannot compensate for the other. You also need 33% overall across subjects.
What is the difference between theory marks and internal assessment?
Theory marks (80 marks for most subjects) come from the board exam you write in February–March. Internal assessment (20 marks per subject) is given by your school throughout the year — periodic tests, notebooks, and subject enrichment. Both appear on your marksheet, and you need 33% in each independently.
What are my options if I fail a subject in Class 10?
If you fail in 1–2 subjects, you are eligible for the Compartment exam in July. Passing allows you to proceed to Class 11. If you fail in 3 or more subjects, your result shows 'Essential Repeat' and you must repeat Class 10.
Can I apply for re-evaluation in Class 10?
Yes. CBSE offers: (1) Verification of marks — checks if marks were totalled correctly (~₹500/subject); (2) Photocopy of answer sheet (~₹700/subject); (3) Re-evaluation — only after receiving the photocopy (~₹100/question). Apply online within the window announced after result declaration.
What documents do I need for Class 11 admission after my result?
Most schools require: CBSE marksheet or online result printout, Transfer Certificate (TC) from your Class 10 school, Aadhaar card, passport photos, and character certificate. Some schools also ask for caste or income certificate for reserved category seats. Check your target school's specific requirements in advance.
How is the Class 10 result different from Class 12?
Class 10 results are shown in CGPA (grade points), not percentage. Class 12 results show actual marks and percentage. Both include internal assessment components submitted by the school. Class 12 results affect university applications directly, so the result format matters more for documentation.
