Telugu Exam Writing Tips

How to write each section of the BSE Telangana Class 10 Telugu paper for full marks — nibandham structure, patra format, padyam bhavam approach, and grammar answer layout.

Nibandham (Essay)

8–10 marks
  1. 1Start with one interesting sentence: a proverb, a question, or a well-known fact related to the topic
  2. 2Paragraph 1 (body): define the topic and explain its importance in society
  3. 3Paragraph 2 (body): give 3 supporting points with real-life examples from Telangana context when possible
  4. 4Conclusion: summarise in 2 sentences and give your personal view or a solution
  5. 5Length: 150–180 words is ideal — quality matters more than quantity
  6. 6End with a positive note or a call to action — examiners respond well to optimistic conclusions

Patra Lekhana (Letter)

6–8 marks
  1. 1Format: Your address (top right), date below it, then receiver's address (left side), then subject, then salutation
  2. 2Formal letters: use 'Vandanalu' (greetings) as salutation and 'Meeru viswasapatra udu' (Yours faithfully) as closing
  3. 3Body: 3 paragraphs — purpose of writing, detailed request or complaint, what you expect the reader to do
  4. 4Do not use casual language — write in standard, polite Telugu throughout
  5. 5Check that you've included: sender address, date, receiver address, subject line, body (3 paragraphs), closing, and name

Padyam Bhavam (Verse Meaning)

4–5 marks
  1. 1Open with: the poem name, the poet's name, and the general theme in one sentence
  2. 2Explain what is happening or being described in the verse — who is speaking to whom and about what
  3. 3Translate each significant phrase into simple Telugu prose (not word-by-word, but idea-by-idea)
  4. 4Name the Alankaaram (figure of speech) used if visible — and explain how it enhances the meaning
  5. 5Close with: the poet's message or the feeling the verse creates in the reader

Grammar Answers

2–5 marks each
  1. 1Sandhulu: name the type first, then show the joining rule clearly, then give the example
  2. 2Samasalu: name the Samasam type, show which two words combine and what the compound means
  3. 3Vibhakthulu: identify the case ending in the word, state which Vibhakthi it is, and give the function in the sentence
  4. 4Alankaralu: quote the exact phrase from the text, name the Alankaaram, and explain what is being compared or described

Samkshepa Lekhana (Précis)

6 marks
  1. 1Read the passage twice before writing — identify the main idea of the whole passage first
  2. 2Note the key points from each paragraph in a word or phrase — do not write full sentences yet
  3. 3Write the précis in about 80 words (roughly one-third of the original) in your own words
  4. 4Give a suitable title — 3–5 words that capture the core idea
  5. 5Do not include examples, repetitions, or elaborations from the original — only the core content
