Telugu Last Minute Revision

Quick-fire revision for BSE Telangana Class 10 Telugu — grammar rules, poetry hints, writing formats, and exam strategy for the final 24 hours before your paper.

Grammar Quick Review

  • Sandhulu: Svarasandhi joins two vowels, Vyanjana Sandhi involves consonants — recall 1 example each
  • Samasalu: Tatpurusha is the most common — the first word modifies the second (e.g., Rajakumaaradu = Raja + Kumaaradu)
  • Vibhakthulu: 7 cases — Prathamaa (subject), Dviteeyaa (object), Triteeyaa (instrument), Chathurthee (purpose), Panchamee (source), Shashthee (possession), Saptatmee (location)
  • Alankaralu: Upamaalam uses 'vanta' or 'vaanti' (like), Rupakam replaces one thing with another without comparison word

Poetry — Final Check

  • Re-read the first 4 lines of each padyam in your textbook — bhavam comes from understanding, not memorising
  • For bhavam questions: state who is speaking, what they describe, and what feeling or message it carries
  • Alankaaram in padyam: identify by looking for simile words (vanta/vaanti = Upama) or direct replacement (Rupaka)
  • Theme questions: most poems in TS SSC 10th textbook are on nature, patriotism, social values, or Telangana heritage

Writing — Pre-Exam Recall

  • Nibandham structure: 3 paragraphs — introduction (2–3 sentences), 2 body paragraphs with points, conclusion with your view
  • Formal patra format: Your address > Date > Receiver's address > Subject line > Salutation > Body (3 paragraphs) > Yours faithfully > Name
  • Samkshepa lekhana: read the passage twice, pick the main idea of each paragraph, write in your own words in 80 words, give a title
  • Anuvadham: translate meaning by meaning, not word by word — Telugu sentence structure is SOV (Subject-Object-Verb)

Exam Strategy

  • Attempt writing questions first — Nibandham and Patra lekhana take time, so start there to leave editing time
  • For grammar questions: if unsure, eliminate options by recalling the rule name and one example you know
  • Padyam bhavam: write 6–8 sentences. Start with 'Ee padyamlo kavi...' (In this verse the poet...) for a structured answer
  • Read comprehension passages twice before answering — the second read makes the answers clearer
  • Keep 10 minutes at the end to re-read your Nibandham — fix grammar, spelling, and sentence flow
