Quick answers

Has the CBSE 2027 date sheet been released?

Not yet. CBSE is expected to publish the 2026-27 date sheet in November–December 2026. Anything circulating before then is unofficial.

About 179 days for Class 10 and 179 days for Class 12, counting from today to the expected first paper. The live countdown above updates daily.

When are the 2026 to 2027 board exams?

CBSE has started theory exams in mid-February for several years running and finishes by early April. Expect Class 10 to run roughly 2027 mid-February to late March, and Class 12 to run slightly longer.

Preparation Gap Between Papers

The dates matter less than the gaps between them. A subject with two days of preparation time needs to be revised before the exam season starts, not during it. The analysis below runs on the completed 2025-26 schedule — CBSE keeps subject order broadly stable year to year, so treat it as a planning proxy until 2026-27 is announced.

Red = 2 days or less between papers · amber = 3–5 days · green = 6 days or more.

The tables above cover the whole cohort, but the published date sheet puts several subjects on the same day — no student sits both Physics and Business Studies. Pick your stream to see the sequence you actually face. The difference is large: a Science (PCM) student gets three days between Chemistry and Mathematics, where a Commerce student has a fortnight at the same point.

How to Use the Date Sheet to Plan Your Preparation

Step 01

Work backwards from exam dates

Once the date sheet is out, count the days to each exam. Subjects with fewer days of gap need extra attention right away.

Step 02

Identify back-to-back exams

Some subjects are scheduled 2-3 days apart. Start revising those early so you are not cramming the night before.

Step 03

Build a 60-day plan

Start detailed revision 60 days before the first exam. Assign chapters to weeks, not days — flexibility is key.

Step 04

Keep practical exam dates free

Practical exams happen before theory (Jan–Feb). Do not schedule heavy theory revision during your practical exam days.

Step 05

Add buffer days

Keep 2 days before each exam only for revision and mock tests — no new learning. This is your most productive time.

Step 06

Rest your high-weightage subjects

Science, Maths, Physics, Chemistry usually have higher prep time. Start these 3-4 weeks earlier than other subjects.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will CBSE release the date sheet for 2026-27?

CBSE typically releases the date sheet in November or December. For 2026-27, expect the announcement in November–December 2026. We will update this page as soon as it is officially published.

When do CBSE board exams usually start?

CBSE board exams for both Class 10 and Class 12 typically begin in mid-February. Theory exams usually conclude by late March or early April. Practical exams are held in January–February before the theory exams.

Is the 2025-26 date sheet the same as 2026-27?

No — the exact dates change every year based on the academic calendar. However, the general pattern (Feb–March theory exams) and the subject order remain broadly similar from year to year.

Where is the official CBSE date sheet published?

The official date sheet is published on cbse.gov.in under the 'Examination' section. It is also sent to all CBSE-affiliated schools officially.

Can the CBSE date sheet change after being released?

In rare cases, CBSE issues a revised date sheet — usually due to clashes with other major exams (JEE, NEET) or public holidays. Students should follow official CBSE communications for any changes.

How should I use the date sheet to plan my preparation?

Work backwards from each exam date. Give 7–10 days of focused revision per subject. Prioritise subjects with fewer days between them. Use the date sheet to make a 60-day study plan starting in December.
