How to Use the Date Sheet to Plan Your Preparation
Work backwards from exam dates
Once the date sheet is out, count the days to each exam. Subjects with fewer days of gap need extra attention right away.
Identify back-to-back exams
Some subjects are scheduled 2-3 days apart. Start revising those early so you are not cramming the night before.
Build a 60-day plan
Start detailed revision 60 days before the first exam. Assign chapters to weeks, not days — flexibility is key.
Keep practical exam dates free
Practical exams happen before theory (Jan–Feb). Do not schedule heavy theory revision during your practical exam days.
Add buffer days
Keep 2 days before each exam only for revision and mock tests — no new learning. This is your most productive time.
Rest your high-weightage subjects
Science, Maths, Physics, Chemistry usually have higher prep time. Start these 3-4 weeks earlier than other subjects.

CBSE typically releases the date sheet in November or December. For 2026-27, expect the announcement in November–December 2026. We will update this page as soon as it is officially published.
When do CBSE board exams usually start?
CBSE board exams for both Class 10 and Class 12 typically begin in mid-February. Theory exams usually conclude by late March or early April. Practical exams are held in January–February before the theory exams.
Is the 2025-26 date sheet the same as 2026-27?
No — the exact dates change every year based on the academic calendar. However, the general pattern (Feb–March theory exams) and the subject order remain broadly similar from year to year.
Where is the official CBSE date sheet published?
The official date sheet is published on cbse.gov.in under the 'Examination' section. It is also sent to all CBSE-affiliated schools officially.
Can the CBSE date sheet change after being released?
In rare cases, CBSE issues a revised date sheet — usually due to clashes with other major exams (JEE, NEET) or public holidays. Students should follow official CBSE communications for any changes.
How should I use the date sheet to plan my preparation?
Work backwards from each exam date. Give 7–10 days of focused revision per subject. Prioritise subjects with fewer days between them. Use the date sheet to make a 60-day study plan starting in December.
